Sorry, y'all, that I haven't been posting in my usual compulsive fashion. It's not that there's nothing to say, but rather that I am on Day Eight (8) of an untreatable headache. Advil, caffeine, homeopathic allergy remedies, bouts with my sister's shiatsu machine, all have fallen on fallow ground. Today I'm trying two Excedrin since that dulled it for a while the other day (Day 6, I think). I'm also finally going to try making an appointment with my doctor, just to rule out anything, you know, sinister. Hopefully he'll tell me that this can be treated with a round of acupuncture or something, at least until my next chiropractor visit.
OK, that's the drill. (Oh, wait, did I say drill? As in, sharp instrument that steadily bores holes in things? I wonder why THAT word would be on my mind.) Suggestions welcome.
More chipper posts to come, I hope.
suggestion: chiropractor first, then other doctor. i am so sorry. i would be in a ball in tears, i cannot stand headaches. :(
ReplyDeleteSorry to hear you're feeling so bad! It's hard to go about your day calmly when your head is pounding. Hope it goes away soon!
ReplyDeleteMy mom had a headache that lasted for months! MONTHS! (And I realize that's not too encouraging, but there's a punchline.) We were all quite worried and it turned out to be allergies.
ReplyDeleteMaybe you need some of the magic migraine juice?
Is it a migraine? If so, nothing beats a shot of Imitrex. Your headache will be history in 5 minutes. I know you prefer natural stuff, and I totally respect that, but I know this works. ;)
ReplyDeleteI also agree about the allergies...if it feels sinus-related in the slightest, try warm compresses on your face, followed by a hot shower and a sinus rinse with a neti pot.
I feel for you so much...I hope this goes away ASAP!
(Hi Hannah! Migraine juice is, as Jenny said, a shot of Imitrex. My brother had something in an iv that took half an hour and then he felt COMPLETELY better. I don't know how things work where you are, but he just went to emergency.)
ReplyDeleteGo see my acupuncturist--Dr. Jingyu Gu. He is a pain specialist.
ReplyDeleteI was going to say chiropractor to....hope you feel better!!
ReplyDeleteAccording to Mayo Clinic, acupuncture is used to treat several other types of pain, including headaches and migraines.
