The woman I work for at the tutoring center was kind enough to give me a gift card to Barnes & Noble for Christmas. How cool is that?
Very cool, except that I am overwhelmed by my choices. Paralyzed by indecision.
I have thirteen dollars left on this gift card. Would anyone like to recommend a book to me that I simply must read and own?

I know how you feel. I've been sitting on a B&N gift card for several months now for similar reasons...
Go for a how-to book, a cook book, or a crafty book. That's a better book to own than fiction since you'll keep referring back to it.
The More with Less Cookbook is the most interesting book to come my way in a while. But of course you probably already know most of the wisdom it has to offer...
The only books I've bought recently for myself were cookbooks. If I had extra $ to spend, I'd probably get a book of scrapbook sketches or card sketches.
